Ian:
After my ground acrobatics in Las Vegas, my
local prop shop told me the same thing. (hub no good) My prop was
pretty bad, tho; the blades were reversed, bent backwards and the tips
were worn off. The good news was that the crankshaft was not damaged altho
it cost over $ 6K to find that out.
There does seem to be used props out there,
especially from the builders upgrading to the
turboprop. Lancair even had a used prop
for sale. Good luck. Bill Hogarty

I am having difficulty with the prop shops up
here in Canada, who are telling me that in the event of a prop strikeyou
cannot just replace the blades but must also replace the hub. This is a
new prop!
Can anyone shed some personal light on this and
tell me what you did when the prop was damaged for whatever reason? Did
you get replacement blades? Did you have to replace the
hub?
Does anyone have any bright ideas as to a
substitute prop which might cost less?
Regards
