It's one of the times that FADEC would be nice to handle such chores, but of
course, TCM's FADEC will never, ever, set things up for lean of . . . .
Jabe Laffat, VP of engineering for http://www.fadec.com claims the
IOF-550
runs at best power (~150 ROP) unless the RPMs are below 2300 then it runs 50 LOP regardless of MP or %HP. this means one pushes in the black knob all the way and locks it into
place
for the entire flight, after the end of the runway is passed and wheels
are safely stowed, the blue knob gets pulled from 2700 to 2500 for
climb.
once level the blue knob gets pulled to 2300 until short final.
the TSIOF isn't close to being certified (not even sure if its
on the test stand yet) but the IOF should fly on Bob Fair's Legacy
in a month or so... Should receive mine in a few weeks as the
harness is done and its being fitted to the motor now..
