Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline Shane, The outback flap is actuated via torque tube that passes through the = fuselage just behind the rear spar. A short rod connects two tabs near = the end of the torque tube to a bracket on the inboard rib of the flap. = The electric linear actuator resides in the center tunnel behind the seat = and is attached to an arm bolted to the torque tube. These are just off = center to not interfere with elevator push rod. This set-up removes all = flap hardware from the wheel bay. Maintenance note: The plating process does not do good job on the inside of these tubes. = Six years of use in a relatively dry part of the country produced = significant corrosion on the interior surfaces. During my last annual, I = removed the tubes and used a stainless wire brush on a drill extension to = remove all corrosion and loose plating. I then coated the interior with = gloss white Rustoleum. The gloss white makes inspections with a flashlight= work really well. Chris Zavatson N91CZ 360 std
