One must consider the cost of $4,000 per week plus living expenses for eight weeks compared to taking between three and five years to have a flying plane. I elected to get it done and go flying. I also rented an apartment for $650/month, pretty nice place, referred to me by my sales representative, Jody. After my Christmas/New Years break I expect to have the first flight around the end of this month (January) and fly it home sometime in February. I will fly off the required 25 hours in Redmond. Another consideration for the eight week program is if you are the kind of guy who enjoys the build process and you don't like being rushed and you are meticulous about the quality of work, you might want to consider doing just two weeks then taking it home to complete. Things that you might have liked to do will get missed. However, I suppose that if you are willing to pay extra and stay longer they will be happy to do what ever you want to add extra touches to personalize the plane any way you would like! In my case, there are some things we missed doing that I would have liked to do, but going back now is not an option. I know that Joe is trying hard to make positive changes to improve the build program. But changes take time as does quality. Given a chance and for word to get around, the eight week program will be in demand for many Legacy builders. I am in the process of writing an article on my experience during this eight week build program and will be submitting it to Kitplanes for publishing.
