To Gene and some of you other LML participants who see something on the list
and now can't find it again,

Marv has a great tool for finding things that were once posted and need to
be found. In the case of the alternator info go to

http://lancaironline.net/lists/lml/List.html

then in the "Search:" box at the top of the page type in a key word. In this
case try "coupling". Now press the "Display" button on the far left and
BINGO ....... you'll see a list of possible hits. Not all will be exactly
what you're looking for but most of them probably will be. If not, try
another key word such as "alternator" or "slipping" or "Lord" (for the
company that makes the coupling).

This is probably THE feature that make this list so valuable. Thanks Marv
...... care to chime in here ?

[Thanks for the kind words, Ted, but I cannot in good conscience accept all the kudos for what the LML has become.  If it weren't for all the selfless sharing of information here by the members the LML would be nothing.  I also must thank Rob Logan for providing the hosting and the software that makes it all happen.  We have always had a search engine, but the old archives were hosted on a remote server and that operator had no interest in providing updates and support.  With Rob sharing the front lines, and given his vested interest as a Legacy builder and flier, we can be comfortable in the knowledge that the LML will continue to grow and shine as a resource to the Lancair community.  If there's anything else I can do to make things better around here, just let me know and I'll work with Rob to try to make it happen. Thanks again.

PS... your description of how to use the search engine was right on.  Just remember, the LML now has some 21,000 messages, so be patient while the searcher does its thing.  Choose your keywords carefully and you should be able to locate just about anything you're looking for.
