Following my input on AOA indicators, I had a few off-List emails indicating interest in the Rite Angle system. I really believe that most Lancair pilots would benefit from fitting any AOA indicator system, and I suspect that some, like me, have been putting it off because of cost. I therefore contacted Elbie Mendenhall who owns Rite Angle to see if he would offer a discount, and he has agreed to do so if we have enough participants. If we come up with a minimum of 10 orders, he will give us a 10% discount on both the primary AOA system, and any of the options (e.g. the flap linkage). If the order is less than 10, but more than 5, the discount is 5%. The result could be a basic system for $500, which while not small change, is not bad for our expensive hobby. If you are interested, please first check his web site for details (http://www.riteangle.com/), then contact me off List by email (jerryfisher@charter.net), so that we do not clog up the List with orders. Let me know exactly which options you want. Once I have counted up the number of people interested, I will take that as a commitment from you if the total is more than 10. If it between 5 and 10, I will come back to you to see if you still want to proceed with a 5% discount. I will collect the cash and submit a block order to Elbie. He will send the units to your address direct. So let me know if you want to take advantage of the Rite Angle offer and fly carrier approaches. And no, I have no connection with him or his company! If you have any questions, contact me by email. By the way, I found out that the "Wolfe Lancair" 360 on his web site is owned by Howard Wolfe of Washington or Oregon (somewhere up there), not Rob Wolf as I had assumed. He has apparently flown off his hours and the AOA system is working and is now being calibrated. I don't think he is on the List though. The system is also going through FAA certification for the Cherokee. Jerry Fisher
