Hello everyone
Today I was "chair-flying" some
emergencies--you never know when a CFI will surprise you with one. After
the procedure for a failed engine, I started wondering how the IV-P would
compare to trainers as far as glide speeds and distances. I was
wondering--exactly how far could you glide if you had an engine failure at
FL250? I saw some data in the Private Pilot magazine some months back
where they simulated an engine failure in 750TL at altitude.
Apparently airspeed and decent was stabilized and they were only losing about
400' /minute. Is this because of the aspect ratio of the wings? Is
this what you all have experienced? Just wondering how long I would have
before seeing terra firma if my powerplant decided to quit working.
Thank you for your time and any info;)
