In my Cessna I just chuck all loose water bottles, soda cans and bottles, flight bags, E6Bs, boots, blankets, tool boxes, flashlights (day only), spare headsets, glovebox contents, tie-downs, chocks, thermos bottles, oil cans, gloves, fuel testers, flight manuals, blind flying hoods, and logbooks, as far back into the tail as I can get them---until I get the speed up to where I want it.
