I built a shelf underneath the canopy handle and installed a spring loaded bar lock I bought from AS&S.  The lock actuates through one of the lightening holes in the canopy handle.  The lock is “unlocked” by remote contol via a keyless entry system, and is backed up by a hidden switch to power the car door lock actuator that pulls it.  This is further backed up by a hidden pull cable that will manually actuate the lock.
