Hi Scott:

Good Questions....  I was not aware of a 3 minute  mandatory delay between a heavy and a light aircraft  but the tower did offer me the choice to takeoff or to clear the runway.  I just made the wrong decision.

Active runway was 30  BUT wind was trying to shift from the west.  Actually, I think that I recall the tower was using both runways alternately.

Also, I recall that the charter plane made a left turn out.  I believe 220 degrees is the published SID for North Las Vegas.    SOooo, with the wind trying to favor westerly and the charter turning left to 220,  with me departing on 30,  looks like an accident waiting to happen,  AND, it did.

The good news is that me and mine are still here.  The plane can be repaired (I hope).  Fortuately, I'm still here to repair it.

Thanks, Bill Hogarty
