On the
360 I did not have that problem, however, I have the following advice to
offer. The horizontal alignment of the stab is also very
important. On the 360 the instructions suggest the stab be parallel to the
longerons on the fuselage. This neglects any possible alignment error of
the wings assembly with respect to the fuselage which may creep into any
construction. Therefore when aligning the H stab; make sure it is parallel
and in the same horizontal plane as the wing, not the fuselage. This can be
done by standing aft the airframe and sighting over the Hstab forward corners
and align the sight line from your eye, over the forward corner of the Hstab and
the top of the wing. Move your eye over to the other side holding your head in
the same position and get the same sight picture. Adjust the stab
accordingly until achieved. measure forward to the wing on both sides for
parallel axis in plan view. That is an aligned Hstab.
You may be able to move your stab forward or aft a small amount
in the saddle and achieve some incidence correction. If you must
build up the walls then make sure you build up the saddle to the same structural
integrety as the fuselage saddle below it. This can be acomplished with
wider bid tapes of sufficient width to transfer the expected loads to the
existing fuselage. Contact the factory for the recommended overlap
width.
