I gave up on cost-benefit analysis on both my Lancair and my store-bought Cessna 150 years ago.  It just gave me a headache.  The only reason I keep track of how much it is costing me is to document any insurance claims if my house burns down.

In fact, it would be cheaper for me to burn down the garage and take the insurance money and buy someone else's Lancair.  But I'm not going to do that.
