I mounted the sensor in the lightening hole of the
forward door hinge. The assumption was that there
should be little influence by the exhaust. I have not
done any rigorous checks on the accuracy but comparing
temps on the ground and accounting for lapse rates it
appears to be reasonably accurate.

I'm considering putting a small sun shield over it as
direct sunlight does effect it.
