Call the AOPA and explain the problem. Try to get the list of contacts and power brokers in the legislature they used to get the law passed that keeps the airport open. A call or visit to some of the top legislators on that list may help. Who is the AOPA rep for that airport?
Make a contribution to the AOPA PAC. It is worth everyone's consideration because they do so much in the legislative arena for all of us.

experimental to tie-down. When I explained that I have flown into the
airport MANY times and tied down overnight the airport manager said that was
okay (at $10 per night) but that I couldn't be a "monthly" renter (at $95
per month).
