I am a professional airline pilot with over 10,000 hours including bush time. It always makes me nervous when people drag it in low with power and try to cut the power over the threshold and land. It at best is an inconsistent landing depending on winds, gusts ect. Also coming in low is never recommended for safety. From my experience it is much safer and also much more consistent to approach on a steeper glide path with little or no power to touch down. It demands better pilot technique but delivers consistent safer results. The low approach is particularly perilous at night. Just my two cents, but has always been a bit of a pet peeve to me over my career. Barney >>What is your short field approach strategy?<<
