I wish I had enough money to worry about which avionics shop to give it all to. Having said that, I remember a few years ago when Walter Dodson was complaining mightily about the support from Lancair Avionics. To hear him speak glowingly today about Lancair Avionics speaks volumes. When a guy whose opinion I respect changes his tune that much, he's worth listening to. Beyond that, a guy in my Colorado EAA chapter just got his Europa panel from Aerotronics, and he can't say enough good things about them. I respect his opinion as much as Walter's. I have no first or secondhand knowledge about Dave Buckwalter's shop, but the grapevine is pretty quick and he's been around for a while and I've never heard anything bad about Avionikits. Perhaps there are other Lancair builders out there that can give more meaningful opinions on his shop, or any others out there that you've used or heard good things about. I don't think Brent needed to be so heavy handed in his refutation -- but you've gotta give Brent credit for speaking his mind. I wish more people did that. Maybe Marv can add to his "builder support" listings a subset "avionics support". Just a thought. - Rob Wolf
