Jarrett, The 235 is different. Using the December 1994 235/320/360 Lancair POH, the gross weight limit is 1400 pounds. Your 1700 pounds max is 300 or a 21% increase over the suggested value. The question is can the tail handle it? Can the nose gear handle the weight of a 320 in a 235 body? Lancair's move to the 1800 pound limit on the 320/360 is only a 7% increase (115/1685). This included those with the bigger tail and longer engine mount. Brian's increase of a IV from 3200 to 4000 is (Gulp!) a 25% increase. Whatever. It's your experiMENTAL. Whatever.  It's your experiMENTAL.
