The discussion of flying with full fuel in one wing and 1/4 (or less) fuel in the other wing reminds me of two friends no longer with us because of this problem. If you let the airspeed slow down, you have a snap roll just waiting to happen; very possibly lurking in the base to final turn. With aileron being trimed using a stick-top coolie hat, it is possible to be unaware of a very bad situation. This is especially true when flying formation, night, or in wx. I would guess that the problem is worse is the
L-IV's because of the left-right-off fuel valve. MORAL - be careful !!!
