Loctite makes several Hydraulic Sealants primarily for sealing leaks but most also function as a thread locking compound. I have used their Pneumatic/Hydraulic Seal 545 for several years on "pipe threaded" AN fittings on both brake and fuel systems... never a leak or seep! Very handy when the torque is not quite right to get the fitting pointed the way you want it. Easy disassembly, resistant to gasoline, oil, Skydrol 500, water and "is non-fouling, will not foul valves or screens, resists high pressures and vibration loosening." Cures in the absence of air in a metal to metal joint. I would not use it on flared fittings, just threaded fittings. One caution is, "not for use on plastic piping" plus some other specs you can find on Loctite's website. http://www.loctite.com/catalog/category1.html?ProductLine=40 Steve Colwell Legacy (530) 621-3408 Placerville, CA
