Subject: First flight LNC2
C-FKRO has flown for the first time this Sunday pm, out of Kingston,
Ontario, Canada, in the safe hands of Canadian Air Force pilot, Jeff
Canton. First flight was 20 minutes and the aircraft performed
flawlessly,
climbing to 5000' and performing slow speed work above the airport.
Landing
was uneventful even with gusts and slight crosswind.
Some attention is required to provide a lower pressure area at the bottom
of
the cowl to help cooling air flow.
What a high! Now we can get on with the 25 hours we have to fly off
before
we get the final C of A. My next job is to get Jeff to check me out. Our
regs specifically say that we can carry licenced pilots for the purpose of
checking them out.
6 1/2 years to build, probably 4000 hours and an undisclosed amount of
money. Now the fun really starts!
Ian Crowe.
