Charlie Kohler is here doing my Lancair IV inspection and we went over that yesterday when we were doing all of my paper work.  He made it very clear to me that we did not have to identify ourselves as experimental to ATC Except for control towers.  In the past I always did it even at non controlled airports.  He said that it was not necessary.
