As one observer of the early development of aircraft noted:
Water cooling an aircraft engine makes about as much sense as air cooling

Jeez George, Seems like the P-51 was much more successful in W.W.II than any
air cooled subs built by the enemy. Actually, it is one of my most
respected airplanes. I bet we could find a significant percentage of B-17
pilots that would attest to the "greatness" of this water cooled aircraft
too (of those still alive).
