I was installing it in the baggage compartment right behind the rear window. I taped it into place and measured the SWR and was getting a reflectance of up to 3.0, way too high in my opinion. I could not move it anywhere to get a satisfactory SWR. I called Bob and he said he had changed the design slightly and that he had a bad batch of epoxy board (changed dielectric). He sent me a new antenna, but I have not tried it yet. Before you seal up the tail, I strongly recommend you measure the SWR to make sure the antenna is working. You should get a SWR less than 2, preferably around 1.5 across the entire com frequencies. The com antenna I used in my tail was an Archer SA-008, as recommended by Lancair. My max SWR was 1.6 and the reception using a handheld com receiver is excellent. PS: I did not use any baluns. Eugene Long Lancair Super ES glong2@netzero.net
