I could not disagree with you more !! First of all......flying skills and wanting to build a Lancair have = absolutely nothing to do with each other!! I consider the plane so = beautiful and the experience of building such a beautiful aircraft a = true privilege in my life. But, I can tell you for sure that I don't = have the skills to fly it. That is not to say that I won't acquire the = skills to fly it.....but at this point...I would be STUPID to fly it if = it were ready for first flight. Granted.....I will know more about the = plane then even the test pilot......but flying and building/maintaining = are totally separate realms of aviation. Also, flying and spending your = honeymoon night with a new spouse are also completely and totally = different realms. Your wife may kill you....but the odds are that it = will have nothing to do with how well you perform on your honeymoon. = Not so with the airplane.
