Something just came into our shop that I've never seen but always been told
about.  An aircraft with a full IFR King stack (certified single, less than 5
years old from a reputable manufacturer) came in with two radios dead and
others failing.  Bad voltage regulators and filtering have blown up literally
$10k of avionics.

Now, I'd always been told this was possible but had never seen it happen.  
Well, here it is and the darned thing is out of warranty.  Ouch.

So, don't skimp on your electrical system or you just might fry all those
beeping, blinking, and flashing lights!
