Since I've heard no discussion on this list concerning this topic, I have come to the conclusion after only two beers, that the .53" difference was designed into the fuselage intentionally, for the singleminded purpose of making the plane go faster!<< Angier: I noticed the same thing on my fuselage, but drew a different conclusion. I found that the factory assembled the extreme aft end of my SFB fuselage rather cockeyed, the vertical sides at the rudder post being off vertical nearly seven degrees and one of the horizontal stabilizer saddles being nearly a half inch higher than the other. I ground one side down to where very little fillet remains and had to build the other up to get the HS horizontal. That will take considerable cosmetic surgery to equalize the fillets. As for the rudder cables, I chose where I wanted them to come out of the fuselage sides and cut holes for them. One side has the hole below the molded exit point, the other side is above. I ground down the molded points and will build up new fairings where they belong. I too checked the list for mention of this and found nothing. I couldn't imagine mine was the only fuselage with this misalignment, so I'm pleased to know someone else notice the same thing. Charles Keller --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses by Utahweb]
