I have tried a lot of different seals without success, sooner or later
they
all have come loose in the forward lower corners of my forward hinged
canopy.

When you get the silicone tubing try using stainless steel safety wire
through the tube to secure it in the groove.  The tube can go all the way to
the longeron and can roll a bit with the canopy as it rubs in the forward
sweep of closing.  The safety wire can be installed in segments with the
wire coming through the tube side wall into the E glass and twisted with a
loop to hold that segment.  Re-enter the tube with another wire segment and
down the tube and then tie it off once again, repeating until you have gone
the distance.  If one segment gets beat up it can be removed and replaced
easily without the need to mess with the rest of the seal.  Use RTV to seal
the holes in the E glass where the wire is looped to secure.  The silicone
tube is very tough and will roll a bit when wired on.
