I got checked out by Mike DeHate in my 235 back in '94 and after he flew the first flight and did a stall series and found that N235SP stalled straight ahead, he insisted we do the same with me at the stick. Pretty exciting (nose up to almost 60 degrees at the break, power off [a guess]) but uneventful. The instructor that gives me my BFR, a retired Navy carrier fighter pilot (a Falco owner/builder), always has me practice full stall entry and recovery. Gets less exciting every time. Only caveat from Mike was not to try it at full power since I'd likely find myself straight up at the stall with no way to know which way it was going to fall. Also, if you're going to characterize your Lancair for full stalls, get above 5k AGL for safety. Of course, if you really screw up on the turn to final and do the stall-turn thing, nothing will help - so practicing full stalls at altitude will at least teach you the warning signs of incipient stalls so you can avoid them.
