I ferried home a factory new sr22 this weekend.  (175kts and GREAT viz)

its a #5 [All Electric, 2 Alternators & 2 Battery's)] using diodes to   isolate the second buss. Only one battery for starting.  it made me realize the http://www.bandcspecialty.com/sd20desc.html
will NOT produce enough volts while on the ground, so if you have a Bob

*will* be on the battery for the secondary buss until airborne.

also the http://www.garmin.com/products/gtx327/ automatically goes from standby to alt and back at 30kts

gpss in the stec-55x works very well, even auto trims.. but the alt pre selector is a pain to use.  (asks for pressure and such) it does couple
the full ILS, but its still personally frustrating how weak an ILS is compared to gps @ 6 miles.  (there is less stress to just manually fly it)

the sandel wouldn't be very readable from the pax seat, but the auto
skew of the HSI at way point crossing was neat..  the secondary barring
pointer is for VOR only, I'd prefer to be able to give it a gps point.

the huge http://www.avidyne.com/ex5000.htm is nice, but it ONLY a
displays.. all input must be done via the
http://www.garmin.com/products/gns430/ so it wasn't "helpful".
once they get EGT/CHT on it, it will be more "useful"....  another issue is the http://www.ryaninternational.com/products/tcad/ requires a 6m range and the http://bfgavionics.com/docs/wx500.html needs a 150m range.. so one displays traffic or storm on bottom 430...  all words/numbers nav1 page on the top 430.                   it was nice to see strikes overlaid onto a map, but the ranging of both
cell and strike mode still makes the storm scope useless as a strategic tool. Traffic pops up at 3 to 5 miles, which is still a fast closure rate.
