I can't speak for Hamid, but based on his clear intent, I think it is safe to say that he wuold not have spoken similarly about transistors, because, unlike the perpetual motion machines which abound in experimental aviation, transistors violate neither the laws of physics nor those of economics. The cost of producing the first few transistors was astronomical. The economies of huge scale production and the advent of dedicated production technology brought the cost into the range we have come to expect. Same applies to the technology in the SFS stuff. Start selling millions of the things and the cost of the associated components will also plummet.
