All, et al:

Avemco's failure to insure Lancair hulls-in-motion is based on their experience, a disparity between takeoffs and subsequent successful landings.  However, perhaps the next inquiry should go to their promoter, the Experimental Aircraft Association insurance group. I don't fly with hull-in-motion insurance -- its a fixed loss not worth the increasing premiums and it (the hull, not me) won't make my estate substanially smaller.  I do insure for liability and "comprehensive" on-the-ground losses.
