Rob, Dan, et al,
We have a Lancair built panel (very nice!!!) and it is painted in "victorian
lace, lo luster".  That is a cream color with texture.  The placards and
markings are silkscreened on top.  Ed at Lancair provides the artwork for
the silkscreen maker who then applies it to their painted panels.
I decided to match the overhead metal insert pieces to the panel color.
There are reading lights and Wemac gasper air valves installed there.  After
preping the metal by buzzing it with fine sandpaper on a random sander I
etched and alodyned the pieces.  I sent them to:
Commercial Powder Coating (CPC)     (541) 330-1141
   2185 NE 2nd ST #C
   Bend, OR  97701
for paint.  They do the work for Lancair Avionics thru Comm West Inc. who
does the silkscreen.
I still don't know what to do about lettering.  I have added the AOA to our
panel and must placard the two push buttons.
Tom at Comm West Inc will do it for me but I must provide the art and
disassemble the panel piece for him.  He is priced reasonably.  CPC has a
$50 minimum so the overhead pieces cost that plus $7 for freight.
I hope this helps,
Walter Dodson  IV-P  75% and 50% to go.
