Brent,

I don't understand your latest-- you said you don't have insurance on the IVP but then listed liability and hull "not in motion". So what you don't have in actuality is hull "in motion". Is that correct? >>

Yes. If I attempt to re-kit my airplane on landing the damage to the airplane
is not covered. I will then have the choice of parting out the plane, fixing
it using the "war chest" I have accumulated by not paying usury premiums or
my heirs can enjoy my life insurance and use my liability insurance to fix
whatever I wrecked on the ground.

<<Regarding dues-- the American Bonanza Society dues run about $40/ year. EAA about the same. I don't think the "dues" for this organization is going to bust the bank.>> It is not the dues that I am worried about, although I doubt that you
can set up and run a corporation for $4,000 a year ($40 x 100 members). It
is the new hoops that I would be required to jump through and the costs in
time and $$s associated with those hoops that I don't like.

I built an airplane because I like building stuff and I like my freedom.
Voluntarily putting another layer of bureaucracy between myself and the
sky is not in my nature.

I know that Dave R. is probably good and pissed at Dave Morss and myself
by now but I hope he understands that I am not trying to shoot down his
idea, I just want to test it. If I were him I would rather find out the
true interest level now rather than after I had invested considerable
time and money.

Compliments of the season.
