An association sounded good at the outset but I had not considered the possibility that the insurance companies could make a mandatory thing out of it. Give them an inch and they will still take all they can get. I'm changing my response to an association to a no, probably not. It might be safer to be more proactive on an individual basis rather than as a group. Continued advanced training on a yearly basis is a very, very good idea. Maintaining a list of qualified and willing instructors as well as a suggested curriculum could be a good resource for the pilots who want to do that on their own.
