<< Lancair Builders' Mail List >>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I need to add an apology and some clarification here.
I misunderstood the association as being one which would exclude lowtime
pilots with less than desirable qualifications for insurance. My statements
were harsh and undeserved. I apologize. I have no problem with lowtime
pilots paying more for insurance than those with many hours and relevant
experience. I also would much prefer to get into a program which encourages
proficiency flights and constant improvement of skills with qualified
instructors.
I just didn't want to be excluded from such a program...and that is what I
thought I was reading.

I see while I was gone for the weekend, this topic got very heated. As a
matter of clarification I purpose:
1) The association be open to all pilots.
2) The association be open to all models of Lancairs.
3) We seek to establish a basis for insuring ALL pilots in ALL models of
Lancairs with the knowledge that lower time pilots just like un-proven
designs such as the Turbine IVP will cost more until they have both proven
themselves. It is a fiscal reality we are not likely to avoid.
