Nose Gear Shimy, has anybody had the same problem??<<  Yep.. My 235/320
cracked in the engine frame above and perpendicular to the trunion ( found that one on an annual, doubled these members by welding split halves). And eventually went to the oleo type.  Shimmying damage is most certainly cumulative, look at the weight-moment forces of  the  Nose Wheel vibrating the entire engine/mount @ aircraft.  The old style donuts/ teflon plate was subject to loss of anti-shimy cue to oil on the plate and loss of comparssion spring of the Belleview Washers.  I hope this helps, hang the engine on the wall, and have a GOOD welder double up those cracks, see #43-3 for methods..  Don Skeele N320J  (503) 769-2563
