His first "shot across the bows" was a fairly high level of experience and a rather extensive training syllabus. He also needs 100 people to sign up, and I don't think he'll find them with the level of experience that he originally proposed. So, let Dave set up a program that can handle high time guys in IV-Ps, OR low-time guys transitioning to IVs, and also has a sister program for the 2-seaters (like ours). This way he has a fighting chance of getting the 100 customers he needs. On a philosophical note, I'd venture to say that the high-time guys aren't the problem (accident-wise), but rather, it's us low-time guys. (Yup, me included). I don't mean to disparage low-time pilots -- with 500 hours in Cessnas I'm a low timer myself -- but the statistics will probably show that low timers in complex airplanes have more accidents than high timers in complex airplanes. And no, I'm not gonna research it. So Curtis, cool your jets a little. I hope your initial reaction at being seemingly excluded from the program stems from a (hopefully) faulty assumption that you would be excluded from the program. After all, I'm a low-timer, too, and I want in just as much as you. And you other guys ragging on Curtis -- please cool YOUR jets, too. Can't you see that he WANTS to get involved in this training and insurance program? Isn't that a good thing? I'd rather share the sky with a low-timer who's looking for training than one who thinks he doesn't need it. - Rob Wolf >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
