Let us know how it works if you go this route. I personally think the daily electronic timer is a good idea as well as "The Cool Cube" which turns on power at 35' F. I use this when I am in a cold area and know I am leaving the next morning. My sump heater works very well in my unheated hangar in Bend Oregon. The entire engine (TSIO-550) is warm to the touch after a night's heating without a blanket. Good luck.
