Plexiglas won't shatter. They are designed to vibrate the molecules and shatter the glass. I am not going to try it to prove it however from my experience with plastic and plexi if anything it may cause a slight crack or rock like crack in your car windshield. As for the windows blowing out, how does this happen when the window is inserted from the inside of the fuselage. it appears that Lancair needs to make, or for that matter the builder's, the window flange bigger or stronger.
