For light frost and ambient temps above the mid-30s, I've actually used
water! Seriously. I get the hose and get the plane nice and wet with well
water that is at least in the 40s, probably closer to 50. After a few
minutes, the plane is also in the mid-40s and of course the frost is gone.
Clearly this won't work if ambient is below the freezing point and is a bad
idea if you don't let most of the water drip off before beginning your taxi
run to blow dry the remaining water.
