Rate of climb and takeoff distance are probably less important characteristics. This leaves us with a meager 12 % penalty on cruising speed, when choosing the less powerful option. However, when looking on Marv's builder list, I don't see a single instance where a builder chose the Continental IO-360-ES powerplant. Gentlemen, can you tell me what I, who just obtained his Private, am missing ? Why is the overwhelming majority going for the more powerful option ? There must be information outside the specs that needs to be taken into consideration I would think. thanks, -ar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://members.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please remember that purchases from the Builders' Bookstore assist with the management of the LML.
