Gentlemen:

I just flew a IVP which I bought for several hours on a flight from Seattle to California and wanted to mention something.

This aircraft was equipped with the Aero Options speedbrakes (www.speedbrakes.com) as opposed to the precise flight brakes Lancair sells and which my previous IVP had on it.

WOW...what a difference!

The rate of decent was far better (5500 FPM vs 2500FPM), the application of the speed brakes were smoother and when they were retracted on short final they went fully back into the wing slot while the precise flight system always seemed to hang out an additional 1/2" until the airspeed dropped below 50 KIAS.

In short, the Aero Options are speedbrakes like you would expect to find on a Lear but available for our Lancairs.

I noticed that in the recent Lancair parts catalog they are not listed but this is probably because they won't pay them a kick back.    So.....they money not being sent to Redmond is money you can save!

Check them out!
