The brakes on my Super ES seem to be adequate but only so. I am interested in suggestions for improving them. I talked to Vern and he told me that the "high energy" brake kit can be retrofit to my application. I am not clear if that would improve my brakes or not.
I have not seen any excessive wear on the pads. I just inspected them (250 hours) and they appeared to only be about 1/3 worn. However, I don't have the confidence I would like to have that they will get the job done at gross weight and on a short runway.
I need to know what the difference is between the standard ES brake and the "high energy" brake that is used on the IV. I am also interested in knowing if a production brake off a certified aircraft (Lance, Saratoga, 210,---anything that grosses 3200-3800#) might work. I fly a Lance periodically and the brakes on it feel vastly superior to mine. Thanks for any input you all might have.
