That's my recollection from all the LNC2's I've seen at airshows. They look
great, and if anyone's going to plow into you from behind they won't see the
lights unless they're off to the side. This is not expected to be the
problem that it was in my Cessna 150...
I wasn't worried about the actual visibility from behind -- more the FAA
inspection.
I noticed that white LEDs are now available that are very bright.
a couple of these on the rudder should satisfy 360 degree visibility
requirements, without the one inch faring needed for the standard
bulb-in-the-back.
