We have
closed out the
H-S, but your remark in this posting about the 3 BID layup in the aft
spar-to-skins channel made us stop and think. We are not sure if it
is required.
The hinge brackets were already installed and marked as torqued with
lacquer.

Humm, Just last week, Carsten told me that the 3 BID was not required
if you have the C-channel aft spar.  He also said that the 2 BID is
required on the inboard elevator ribs where the actuator arm attaches. <SNIP>
We also found that the top spacer on the hinge weldment prevented the
full up
travel. It hit the hinge bracket so we had to file that one down.
Looks like that
may be a recurring problem for anyone, especially if the hinges are
already
installed.

My hinges were already installed and torque sealed as well, but I have
not checked the travel as yet.  I will post my findings when I get
there.
I did, however have problems with the alignment of the actuator arm on
the elevator inboard ribs.  The thing did not line up with the ribs.  I
have sent an e-mail with photos to Carsten.  I expect an answer on
Monday.  You can see photos of the problem at:
