The main reason I like it is elimination of the possibility of runaway trim. Say you are coming downhill deep in the yellow and the trim switch sticks - - - - down. I know there are some good disconnect systems to recover from this, if you have the presence of mind to react quickly enough. Another reason is the ability to easily fine tune the pitch trim, my RV6 usually has to be bumped up-down-up a couple of times to get it right. Again I know you can get a two speed electric trim, attach the MAC slow down box, etc.. I have asked both "The" Don and Orin if they have tried the Legacy at cruise speed with full up or down trim to determine control pressure, they haven't. To me the mechanical trim seems to be a simpler less trouble prone system.
