When I jack using the standard hard points now that the engine and prop are installed, the mains and tail go up but not the nose gear. Whats the trick? Should I put a strap and weight on the aft tie down point? Thanks, Mac Taylor [You've hit the nail on the head. Most folks either use the aft tie-down or a sling around the tail just in front of the stab down to an anchor of some sort. If you jack up the aircraft and put a scale between your hands and the tail when you're pushing down to raise the nose gear you'll find out just how much weight it will take to provide the necessary counter-balance. Needless to say, a permanent anchor would provide the most security. Depending on your installation it could take 200 pounds or more to offset the weight of everything in front of the jack points. ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
