I seem to be having a problem with the retract system on the IV. I am not familiar with the system the factory uses. My hydraulic pump seems to me, to be too noisy and sounds as if it is cavitating at first start up. My pressure switch shuts the pump down at 1200 psi. Before too long the pump will start up again for a short burst to build up pressure again. This is continuous. The system does not seem to hold pressure for long. This is on the ground with no operation of the gear or flaps.
When flying the pump does come on about every 10 minutes. When I cycle the gear to go down it seems to take a long time till all wheels are down.
Can anyone tell me how well their systems work? How long does it take in flight for all gear to come up and how lond to go down? Maybe mine is not too bad, I just would like to hear from others on their experience.
There are no leaks in the system to the outside (except a tiny bit from the flap piston seal.) Could there possibly be a slow seep thru a check valve?
I did contact the factory and have their thoughts on this, But I would like to hear from someone that has had the same problem?
I talked to Oildyne and they said it was not the pump in their opinion.
Thanks..........
Marty
