I just got caught up on some old lancair lists and I want to comment on the discussion on shop prices by Skip Slater. I've had quite a bit of repair/upgrading done to my IVP recently by a number of shops and I've found as some might expect that the one with the lowest shop rate was not by a long shot the best value. The work at the one with the lowest shop rate took twice as long and had to be redone. the people redoing it had a higher shop rate but charged me half as much and did a great job . Lesson learned (again). The former shop shall remain nameless the latter I recomend strongly to anyone contemplating repair or refurbishment. They are D.L. & Brad Simmons at Airframes Inc. at Gibson Co. airport north of Memphis.
