<< Lancair Builders' Mail List >>
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<--->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Those of you who were unable to make it to this fly-in missed out on a wonderful get-together. First and foremost I want to thank Doug McAlister for
getting the word out, supporting the event and being a fantastic host. The opportunity to get together with the other Lancair builders/flyers/
"aviation enthusiasts" and talk "lancair talk" for hours upon end was a great experience. I was particularly grateful for the opportunity to
meet Carsten and see his plane and have him answer all the questions I could possibly ask.I want to thank him for his willingness to show me every nook and
cranny on that Legacy of his, and also for answering some questions that I'm
sure are no-brainers to him.
And finally, to all of you who couldn't make it - you've gotta go next year.
I'm telling you from the perspective of a builder who works alone all day in his shop and even with the comraderie of Buzz - building his ES - just a few hangars down, I still would wonder if there's anyone else out there. Guys,
going to fly-ins is a great thing. Going to a Lancair fly-in is the BEST thing. It's like jumping in a cold pool on a hot day. It wakes you up, gets your juices going again, inspires and motivates you.
So thanks again to everyone who made the fly-in a success, and I'm
already looking forward to seeing flocks of you there next year in your Lancairs or otherwise. I'll be there in mine!.......Aaron May
